Book: Cotton Field Dreams

Summary: Sasha comes to the small town of Mindalby to recover from a traumatic event, plan her next move, and seek out information to avenge her beloved uncle – the last thing she wants is a relationship. But when she meets local single dad, Cole, she can't help but be drawn to his warmth and his humour, and his two engaging children. Cole says and does all the right things, and Sasha finds herself falling, but will all of her secrets destroy the relationship before it has a chance to begin? Mindalby, a small town, a community, a home. But when the mill that supports the local cotton farmers and employs many of the town's residents closes unexpectedly, old tensions are exposed and new rifts develop. Everyone is affected and some react better than others, but one thing is certain: living on the edge of the outback means they have to survive together, or let their town die. What I Thought: Really enjoyed this book - off to red book 2!

Book: Red Wine and Summer Storms

In 1923, Fern is fresh from Sydney with her new husband, returned soldier George, to start a new life on a citrus orchard in Curlwaa. Their life is filled with hardships but their love for each other never dies and Fern has no regrets. In 1985, now a widow, Fern lives in Mildura, next-door to Clare, and they become good friends. Estranged from her remaining family Fern looks on Clare almost as a daughter and becomes worried about her when she realises someone is watching her. What I Thought: Loved this series. Hoping for book 4!

Book: Eddie and the Show Queen

Now he has the opportunity to prove himself by winning not only the crown but maybe Alice’s heart in the process. Will Eddie’s enthusiasm ruin Alice’s tribute and with it all hope of a second chance? Or will Alice realise that the real prize isn’t in the past but with the man who wants to be her future? What I Thought: A lovely quirky rural romance!

Book: Our Sunburnt Country

What I Thought: An amazing young woman - I enjoyed this.

Book: Jack Charles - A Born-Again Blakfella

What I thought: A fabulous read. Such an incredibly heart breaking story.

Book: December (Conspiracy 365)

Summary: It's December, the final month in the deadly 365-day countdown. Cal desperately needs to get to Ireland-where he's counting on all the clues falling into place-but with airport security at an all-time high, escaping the country seems impossible. Will Cal find out what really happened to his dad? Will he reach the Ormond Singularity before the stroke of midnight? What I Thought: Oh loved this and stayed up til the early morning to finish. Great to wrap up the riddle (and I was right on who the baddie was)! Looking forward to the 5 follow up books now! Ha ha

Book: Nightshade (Alex Rider)

Summary: Alex Rider is sent by MI6 Special Operations to infiltrate a new and sinister organisation known only as Nightshade. Alex is on his own, with the fate of thousands of people resting in his hands. What I Thought: Have been hanging for this book to be on audio through my local library and it did not disappoint. I've missed Alex and still love him! And it left book #13 hanging!
