Book: Theodore Boone - The Accomplice

What I Thought: I love Theo - easy read.

Book: Theodore Boone - The Scandal

Summary: Theodore Boone, courtroom hero and the only kid lawyer in town, is facing a tough week at school with his exams. But things take a turn for the worse when a huge scandal is revealed - by none other than his best friend, April. And when April makes a decision that Theodore advises against, the scandal suddenly blows up and is all over the news. Their futures are on the line and April's running scared. Can Theodore find a way to reverse the damage and save several lives from ruin? What I Thought: I enjoy these books. Less Theo action here than normal though but I did enjoy still.

Book: Camino Island

What I Thought: Really enjoyed this. Obviously far fetched but a light fun read.

Book: Rogue Lawyer

He defends people other lawyers won't go near: a drug-addled, tattooed kid rumored to be in a satanic cult who is accused of murdering two girls; a vicious crime lord on death row who escaped before his eyes; a homeowner arrested for shooting at a SWAT team that mistakenly invaded his house, and killed his wife and dogs; a Mixed martial arts fighter who killed a referee after losing a fight. In between these adventures, he's contacted by a serial kidnapper and killer who's involved in human trafficking, and knows the whereabouts of the assistant chief of police's missing daughter.

What I Thought: Enjoyable but a bit too disjointed for me.

Book: The Rooster Bar

Summary: Mark, Todd, and Zola came to law school to change the world, to make it a better place. But now, as third-year students, these close friends realize they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a third-tier for-profit law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specializing in student loans, the three know they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

But maybe there’s a way out. Maybe there’s a way to escape their crushing debt, expose the bank and the scam, and make a few bucks in the process. But to do so, they would first have to quit school. And leaving law school a few short months before graduation would be completely crazy, right? Well, yes and no . . .




What I Thought: Loved it! Awesome. I've missed a good legal thriller.

Book: Sycamore Row

Summary:  Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County’s most notorious citizens, just three years earlier.

The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly? And what does it all have to do with a piece of land once known as Sycamore Row?

What I Thought: Another great Grisham read - loved it. was concerned as I couldn't remember everything bout the first book but it wasn't required. Top read - hooked straight away!

Book: Theodore Boone - Fugitive

Summary: Theo thought the danger had passed, but he’s about to face off against an old adversary: accused mur­derer and fugitive Pete Duffy.
On a field trip to Washington, DC, Theo spots a familiar face on the Metro: Duffy, who jumped bail and was never seen again. Theo’s quick thinking helps bring Duffy back to Strattenburg to stand trial. But now that Duffy knows who he is, Theo is in greater danger than he’s ever been in before. Even when every­thing is on the line, Theodore Boone will stop at nothing to make sure a killer is brought to justice.


What I Thought: I enjoy this series - a little far fetched but still cool :)

Book: Gray Mountain

What I thought: Loved this! Great to read another Grisham. A bit different to normal though and the character was a bit of a fence sitter and there wasn't great court drama etc. but it was a great story that sucked me right in!

Book: The Activist

Summary: As Theo finds himself in the center of a hot political battle over a proposed highway bypass through his town, he discovers corruption that has him questioning the ethics and motivations of everyone involved, including his father.  When his beloved canine sidekick, Judge, is badly injured in a confrontation with surveyors, Theo discovers that a dog is not only a boy's best friend, but also his star witness. 

What I thought: It was ok. Not as good as the first 3 in the series but I still enjoyed.

Book: Theodore Boone - The Accused

Summary: Theodore Boone is the thirteen year old who knows more about the law than most adult lawyers. He certainly never expected to be the victim of crime himself. But then his bike is vandalised, he's attacked while doing his homework and, worst of all, framed for a robbery.

What I thought: Another nice quick simple read. Looking forward to book #4 in the series.

Book: The Racketeer

What I thought: I still enjoyed this book but it wasn't as good as his other more recent ones. I think it was a little far fetched (but still a great read!)...

Book: Theodore Boone - The Abduction

What I thought: A great little read. Not too much "law" in this one though. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Book: The Confession

What I thought: A great read. Back to the racial issues in his previous books. Not as good as some of his work but still a great story!

Book: The Litigators

Summary: The partners at Finley & Figg—all two of them—often refer to themselves as “a boutique law firm.” Boutique, as in chic, selective, and prosperous. They are, of course, none of these things. What they are is a two-bit operation always in search of their big break, ambulance chasers who’ve been in the trenches much too long making way too little. Their specialties, so to speak, are quickie divorces and DUIs, with the occasional jackpot of an actual car wreck thrown in. After twenty plus years together, Oscar Finley and Wally Figg bicker like an old married couple but somehow continue to scratch out a half-decent living from their seedy bungalow offices in southwest Chicago.

And then change comes their way. More accurately, it stumbles in. David Zinc, a young but already burned-out attorney, walks away from his fast-track career at a fancy downtown firm, goes on a serious bender, and finds himself literally at the doorstep of our boutique firm. All Finley & Figg has to do is find a handful of people who have had heart attacks while taking Krayoxx, convince them to become clients, join the class action, and ride along to fame and fortune. With any luck, they won’t even have to enter a courtroom!
It almost seems too good to be true.
And it is...

What I thought: BRILLIANT! Loved it. Grisham at his best.

Book: Ford County - Stories

What I thought: I loved them. I'm not usually into short stories but these were classic Grisham.

Book: Theodoore Boone

What I thought: A great light easy read. Love Grisham.

Book: The Associate

A classic Grisham. Loved it!
